Meridian Ventures announced the close of a $2.8 billion fund dedicated to AI infrastructure companies. The firm's thesis centers on the layers beneath the application surface: silicon, data pipelines, evaluation tooling, and agent orchestration.
Meridian's portfolio already includes Nimbus AI and Aperture Compute. Partners say the fund will write larger checks earlier as competition for infrastructure deals intensifies.
"The application layer moves fast, but infrastructure compounds," a partner said.
